MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PLACES TO VISIT IN OUR TOUR.
TYPON:
This impressive agricultural complex is located at the base of the Pachatusan mountain, which is an important Apu protector (or mountain spirit) of the Andean religion. It contains terraces that are still preserved, as well as finely carved stone walls, but the most incredible feature of this site is its irrigation system.
PIKILLAQTA:
Once an important turban center during the Pre-Inca Wari Empire, this archaeological site contains thousands of constructions, including plazas, colcas (silos used to store food), courtyards, houses, temples and long, wide streets. Some buildings were up to four stories high.
ANDAHUAYLILLAS:
This typical Andean town dates back to colonial times, and is notable for its colonial architecture, the most notable of which is its colonial Catholic chapel. The chapel, known as the Sistine Chapel of Cusco, contains impressive decoration and murals from the 17th and 18th centuries.
